The Lion King (1994)
This May we’ll covering the theme of STAGE TO SCREEN: THE CIRCLE OF LIFE.
Film has maintained a symbiotic relationship with theatre since the inception of the medium. With the advent of sound in the 1930’s, a new avenue for this relationship was born: The Movie Musical. From its peak in the golden age of Hollywood to its Modern counterparts, this series will explore the way film and theatre inform and influence each other. What are the similarities, what are the differences, and how can we continue to grow and discover the possibilities of our storytelling capabilities together?
